A native of Star, North Carolina, Mona Lamonds has called Wilson County home since 1987. She earned her bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University in 1987 and joined United Way of Wilson County as Finance Director following her retirement from BB&T (now Truist) in 2021. During her 30-year banking career, she was a dedicated supporter of United Way through workplace campaigns and numerous fundraising initiatives.
Mona remains passionate about serving her community. She volunteers with North Carolina State University's Free Moms organization, where she helps provide homemade treats and encouragement to students throughout the school year. She is also an active member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Wilson, serving on various committees and participating in annual mission trips.
Outside of work and volunteer service, Mona enjoys spending time with her son, Cole, and her rescue dog, Molly. Whether she's visiting the beach or the mountains, taking a walk, or gathering with family, she values opportunities to enjoy God's creation and invest in the people she loves.
